A Benefit for the Boundless Edge Ice Dance Ensemble and School

at Mohonk Mountain House
March 13th, 2010

For those of you who missed the performance you can see some of it here.

The skating rink is under a beautiful pavillion and the ice is mechanically kept frozen.  The performance will happen rain or shine.  Hope to see you there.

Tickets available at the door.

We have a wonderful event planned at Mohonk Mountain House on Saturday March 13th, 2010, 5:00PM.

Boundless Edge is holding our biggest fundraiser to date on March 13th at Mohonk Mountain House.  The support of our students, their families and our local community is really important to us.  There are many ways that you can help.  Your help allows the school to offer scholarships and discounted tuition to students who cannot pay the full cost of skating lessons.  The school has never turned away a student who needed help paying for classes.  We have actually looked for and brought to our program underprivileged youths.  The artistic vision of Boundless Edge is to train skaters to be dancers on the ice, we are the only skating school that is dedicated to doing this.  To this end we participate in many performances.  The cost of producing these events will also be supplemented by our fundraising.  Your child is part of Boundless Edge.  Please get involved and help make our projects even more successful.

There are three ways that you can help:

1)     Attend the Benefit Dinner and performance and bring your friends.

2)     Donate a Silent Auction Item.

beth@boundlessedge.org

3)     Place an ad in our program.

Restaurants, Gyms, Chiropractors, Massage Therapists, Gift Shops, Wine Stores etc, Gift Certificates or Merchandise all work.

We will list all individuals and businesses that attend the Benefit Dinner and/or donate   on our website, we will even give them a link to their websites!

The benefit will be lots of fun!  Mohonk is a beautiful, elegant setting.  We will have a guest skater named Joelle Forte, she is a triple jumper who looks like she just came from the Olympics.  Our other guest skater is Amelia Xu, a 13 year old who also does triples.

The event will also feature a performance by the Boundless Edge Ensemble. Company Repertoire will include “The Path to Peace”, “Celtic Techno”, “Flight” and audience favorite “Till the End of Love”.

After the performance the audience is invited to try out the ice for themselves. For those who don’t want to skate you can sip hot chocolate, enjoy the giant fireplace and bid on Silent Auction items. Following, Benefit Guests are invited to dinner at the Mountain House.

Best of all Boundless Edge is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization, that means that contributions are tax dedutible. Contributions in behalf of Boundless Edge may be made payable to Fractured Atlas.

The value of the event is $50. Any contribution above that amount is tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Thank you for your support we greatly apprectiate it!

Sincerely,
Beth Woronoff

Amelia Xu:

Amelia Xu, the 13 year old 9th grader at Jericho High School has been skating since the age of four. Amelia is a well rounded teenager who excels academically, athletically and artistically.

At school, Amelia is an A+ student for all subjects. Amelia is representing her school for State Debate tournament in April.

Amelia found her passion on ice and she continues to improve her skating skills with her new coach, the 1982 World Champion Elaine Zayak. Amelia was a Junior National competitor who represented the North Atlantic Region at the Intermediate Level. Amelia is now a Junior Lady and she puts forward tireless effort each day on ice to fulfill her Olympic dream.

Amelia also plays both piano and violin and has been actively engaging in fund raising performances. Amelia’s Piano performance in Carnegie Hall last June raised significant funding for Baobei Foundation in Shanghai and saved an orphan from a brain tumor.
