Till The End of Love

Till The End of Love

“Till the End of Love”

Each of it’s three parts has dream qualities, beginning with “Murky Waters”, in which six skaters emerge from their dream to realize they have been in bondage, then move placidly back into the order from which they attem”pted to escape.  Part Two begins with a funeral walk and turns into a dark waltz as Leonard Cohen sings “Dance Me Till the End of Love”.  At the close of this section one of the dancers has been singled out.  She stands alone at the center of the ice transformed into an Angel.  In the final section in which Frank Sinatra sings “Fly Me to the Moon”, the Angel is joined by a Mortal who does not want the Angel to leave.  Their dance while joyous is at times controlled by outside forces.  In the end the Angel cannot remain with the Mortal.
